
Russia: 'Vnukovo Total CEO crash investigation aims to prevent future incidents' - MAK
The investigation of Monday's plane crash at Moscow's Vnukovo airport is well underway, the Deputy Chairman of the Interstate Aviation Committee (MAK) Sergei Zaiko said in Moscow, Wednesday.
The data on the cockpit voice recorder information has already been downloaded and is being analysed, Zaiko said to journalists. He also pointed out that MAK investigation, which is being conducted in collaboration with France, was not to proportion blame but to avoid similar incidents in the future. He also expressed his condolences to the families of those involved in the accident and the people of France.
The Falcon-55 jet collided with a snow-plough at Vnukovo International Airport outside Moscow just before midnight on Monday. All four people on board were killed including the CEO of the French oil and gas giant Total, Christophe de Margerie.
