      Italy: Merkel and Poroshenko arrive for ASEM talks

      German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko were among 47 heads of state to arrive in Milan Thursday for the 10th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). Arriving at the Park Hyatt Milano, scores of tourists took photos and videos of the two leaders entering the hotel.

      Ukraine is one of the many issues expected to be discussed on the sidelines of the event. For the first time in several months, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Merkel are due to talk face-to-face about the conflict, alongside Poroshenko.
