Italy: 'Huge deficits in Ukraine's Minsk truce need addressing,' says Merkel
There are 'huge deficits' in the Minsk memorandum that agreed a truce in the Ukraine conflict which need addressing, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in a brief statement to the press upon her arrival at the 10th edition of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), Thursday.
Merkel also explained that the leaders attending the conference will discuss a number of issues concerning an "increasingly interconnected world," including the fight against IS and managing the Ebola crisis. The German Chancellor added that she will be meeting the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and the Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the Ukraine conflict, on the sidelines of the ASEM summit.
