Russia: 'Sanctions against Russia useless' says Crimean leader Askenov
The Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov told press that the 'EU and US sanctions against Russia are useless,' at a press conference in Moscow, Thursday.
Sergei Aksenov believes that only if 'reasonable and rational' people were elected to power in Europe and America would that lesson be learnt. He went on to say that western politicians are ultimately harming their own countries with the sanctions against Russia and that it has happened many times before.
The Crimean leader also took the opportunity slammed the bias in Ukrainian media, stating that joining the Russian Federation was a huge boost to Crimea. He quoted the Crimean approval rating for Russian President Vladimir Putin, putting the figure at above 93 percent.
Aksenov was elected with a large majority to head the Crimean Republic for the next five years by the State Council of the Republic of Crimea on October 9.
