The New York Police Department released further CCTV footage on Tuesday showing an incident during which smoke canisters were thrown at a cafe.
On Saturday 11 October, a man wearing a multicoloured t-shirt climbed out of a subway hatch and threw the two red-coloured smoke canisters at an Italian restaurant called Bar Pitti.
Diners were startled but there were no injuries. Police forces are investigating the incident.
