Ukraine: Donetsk Airport's destruction continues
Smoke dominated the Donetsk skyline once more Saturday as the battle for the International Airport continues. Conflicting reports over control of the airport continue to emerge, with most reports stating that the Donetsk National Republic forces have wrested control away from the Ukrainian army.
Since the truce agreement signed in Minsk on September 5 the airport has been a key site of conflict, with the UN reporting over 331 deaths post-truce. The airport has been reduced to rubble in large part, with the terminal building destroyed and the air traffic control tower seriously damaged.
