Parliamentary elections got under way in Riga on Saturday, with people queuing up to cast their ballots.
Nils Usakovs, the mayor of Riga and the leader of the left-wing alliance Harmony Centre, hoped to get enough votes to get the party in government. In the 2011 election, Harmony Centre won 28.36% votes, making them the largest oppositional party.
A total of 953 voting stations have been opened throughout Latvia. .
