Iraq: 'We don't need soldiers from Europe, just their weapons' - Peshmerga soldier

Kurdish Peshmerga forces were seen preparing to start a big offensive campaign against the self-dubbed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants in the Mosul area, Wednesday. One of the soldiers stated that the war could be over in "three to four months" if Europe and the US provided the armanents needed to defeat IS.

Peshmerga forces are planning to retake the northern city of Mosul, which is still under control of the IS, becoming a stronghold for IS after their advance on the city in June. However, the manner in which IS took control of the city, with the Iraqi army retreating and leaving behind their heavy arms leaves IS forces with more advanced and modern military equipment than Kurdish forces.
