USA: "Khorasan was potentially planning to attack US homeland" says Mayville - POOL
Lieutenant Gen. William Mayville, who is leading the US airstrikes on IS in Syria, said "the Khorasan Group was in the final stages of plans to execute mayor attacks against Western targets and potentially the US homeland", on Tuesday. He also explained the coalition of the US and several local partners destroyed "training camps, headquarters, commander controll facilities, logistical notes, armoured vehicles and leadership" belonging to IS.
The coalition used a mix of Fighter, Bomber and Tomahawk land attack missiles for the attack. The partner countries are Jordan, The United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The US stressed that it does not cooperate with the Syrian government led by Bashar Assad.
