Ukraine: Meet the American volunteer fighting for the Vostok Battalion
An American man calling himself Hunter spoke out about why he chose to travel to eastern Ukraine and fight alongside the Vostok Battalion, Monday.
Hunter has been fighting in the Donetsk region for around one month, and has been joined by fellow foreign volunteers from Spain over the past week.
Hunter, who is said to be the first volunteer militia member to come from the US, says he believes that Kiev’s decisions do not reflect the wishes of the Donbass population, who want to be an independent state.
He calls for a peaceful resolution and for the Ukrainian government to give a "large amount of territory to the new state of Novorossiya."
