Belarus: Trilateral talks on Ukrainian ceasefire commence

Participants of the trilateral Contact Group, including Ukraine representatives, members of the OSCE and Russian officials, arrived at the President hotel in Minsk to hold a new round of talks on the Ukrainian crisis, Friday.

Kiev authorities were represented by Ukraine's former president Leonid Kuchma. Prime Minister Aleksandr Zakharchenko and Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Purgin came to represent the self-proclaimed Donetsk Peoples Republic while the self-proclaimed Lugansk Peoples Republic sent its Prime Minister Igor Plotnitskiy. The delegation from the OSCE was led by Heidi Tagliavini. The Russian side is represented by the ambassador to Ukraine, Mikhail Zurabov.

Ahead of the meeting Leonid Kuchma told journalists that a memorandum concerning the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, adopted at the previous meeting of the group on September 5th, is to be approved.
