
UK: "Shove your union up your arse!" Glasgow rues 'No' win
'Yes' campaigners wept and hugged one another as they admitted defeat in the Scottish referendum on independence on Glasgow's George Square, Friday. People on the iconic square, which had been the site for pro-independence campaigning, waved Scottish flags and could be heard shouting "Shove your union up your arse."
Despite Glasgow voting for independence with a turnout of 75 percent, latest nationwide figures show a 10-point lead for the 'No' campaign with 55 percent voting no (1,914,187) and 45 percent voting yes (1,539,920).
Overall turnout was 84 percent.
