UK: "I'm now an ex-Scot" Edinburgh's Yes campaigners gutted by result
'Yes' campaigners for Scottish independence were dejected and angry as results for the Scottish referendum came in on Friday morning at The Radical Road pub in Edinburgh. Edinburgh rejected independence with 194,638 voting against and 123,927 in favour.
Many attendees at the invite-only event were visibly angry towards their fellow countrymen who voted to remain in the union. Despite the solemn mood, the evening wrapped up with a verse of 'Bonny Scotland, we'll support you ever more' and a short wave of the saltire banner before everyone dispersed.
With an overall turnout of 84 percent, Scotland has voted to stay in the UK. Latest figures put the 'No' side as having a 10-point lead with 55 percent voting for the union (1,914,187) and 45 percent voting for independence (1,539,920).
