UK: Kilts of Independence! Glasgow's 'Yes' supporters hit the polls
A group of 'yes' supporters made up of family members and neighbours cast their votes in the Scottish independence referendum in the east end of Glasgow on Thursday, with the pro-indy campaigners doing their own version of a 'March to Freedom.'
Inspired to march after campaigning for members in their community to vote yes, the 'March to Freedom' supporters believe it is important to go to the polling station as a collective group whilst wearing Scottish attire and waving Scottish flags so other people in their neighbourhood vote in the referendum.
Polling opened across Scotland at 07:00 local time (06:00 GMT) and will close at 22:00 local time (21:00 GMT).
Ninety-seven percent of eligible Scots are registered to vote whether to leave the United Kingdom and become a fully independent country.
Official results are expected to be announced on Friday morning, though regional results could start coming in as early as 02:00 local time (01:00 GMT).
