Russia: "Russia our last hope," Republika Srpska president tells Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin met Milorad Dodik, President of the Republika Srpska entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Moscow on Thursday.
Dodik asked Russia for a one billion euro loan, a sum equal to the annual budget of the Republic of Serbia, to fight the consequences of severe flooding in the region. Putin noted that trade between Russia and the Republic of Srpska is constantly growing and bilateral ties are progressing.
Milorad Dodik stressed that he understood the situation Russia is in due to western sanctions, but emphasised the loan could be pivotal in overcoming the devastation wrought by flooding.
