      Spain: Far-right activists protest Catalan independence

      Around two dozen far-right activists gathered to protest against Catalan independence in Madrid on Thursday. The protesters did the Nazi salute, extending their right arms straight in the air during the demonstration. Some addressed the gathering with a megaphone stating that "Catalonia is Spain." The small gathering took place by a fenced in street corner and was monitored by the police.

      A pro-independence protest took place in Barcelona on the same day, where nearly two million people gathered.
