Ukraine: Donetsk pensioners rock to Deep Purple as bombs drop in E. Ukraine
Two local residents of Donetsk, Buhtiyarov Anatoliy and Gladkov Nikolay, entertained locals close to the city's airport on Sunday, as violence from the Ukrainian conflict continued to affect everyday lives.
The two have been playing at the same spot for over four years and refuse to move in the face of ongoing fighting in the city.
Gladkov Nikolay, the drummer, said that "Music has always been stronger than war. Now we hear explosions, but we eagerly play." Local resident, Irina, spoke about how the sound of their music helps her to "forget about the situation."
