      USA: Obama declares airstrikes on Islamic State ‘wherever it exists’

      The United States will not hesitate to conduct airstrikes in Syria to stop the Islamic State (IS) and will send an additional 475 military personnel to Iraq, U.S. President Barack Obama said Wednesday in Washington, D.C. His words came during a primetime address from the White House.

      Obama also said that America would work to "degrade and destroy" IS, and that "when you threaten America, you will find no safe haven."
