
Ukraine: Azov Battalion guards Mariupol checkpoint
The Azov Battalion of the Ukrainian Army guarded a road checkpoint in Mariupol's village of Sartana, Tuesday. Soldiers were spotted checking the drivers' and passengers' documents and their cars for weapons and prohibited items.
Ukrainian border guard Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Galetsky announced restrictions earlier in the day, limiting the the time for entering and exiting Mariupol to a timeframe between 20:00 and 06:00 local time (17:00 and 03:00 GMT) for non-Mariupol residents. The speed limit has also been reduced to 40kmph (24mph).
The decision was announced during a meeting of the staff of the defence of Mariupol, citing security reasons.
