Netherlands: 'MH17 likely downed by large number of high-energy objects,' reports Dutch Safety Board
Downed Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was likely struck by multiple “high-energy objects that penetrated the aircraft,” said Chairman of Dutch Safety Board Tjibbe Joustra, during a preliminary report into the causes of the fatal crash that killed 298 passengers and crew in east Ukrainian territory.
The Dutch Safety Board also disclosed that sources indicate that flight MH17 was proceeding normally until it ended abruptly, with no traces of technical faults or emergency alerts.
The Boeing 777 suddenly plunged down on July 17 while flying over east Ukraine.
