UK: London police comment on "brutal" beheading of woman
Police commented Thursday after a woman was found beheaded in a back garden in Edmonton, North London. According to Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Letchford, police officers were called to the address at 1:07 p.m. local time (1207 GMT), and found a woman collapsed on the ground.
Letchford added that a 25-year-old man was detained nearby on suspicion of murder. Specialist firearm officers were called to reports of a man with a machete attacking an animal, and some eyewitnesses said they saw the man killing cats.
Scotland Yard said there is nothing to suggest that the killing was motivated by terrorism.
