The remains of Ukrainian military vehicles were spotted along the settlement of Novokaterinovka on Wednesday, where they have been lying afer violence between pro-Kiev units and anti-government fighters erupted August 29.
The column included fighters from Dnepr and Donbass battalions. They were trying to escape from the zone of encirclement near Ilovaysk through a green corridor, provided by DPR, but they did not abandon their military equipment, thus breaking a condition of the DPR, which was to surrender the military equipment and leave safely.
Novokaterinovka resident Leonid explained the reason for why the fire was opened by the fact that the Ukrainian forces were not warned by their commandment about the agreement that the DPR would provide a green corridor on the condition that the Ukrainian forces would abandon their military equipment.
