Yemen: Thousands of Houthis take Yemini capital in fresh ant-gov protests
:
Tens of thousands of Houthis took to the streets of Yemen's capital Sana'a, Wednesday, after rejecting proposals from the country's president that were intended to ease tensions following months of civil unrest.
Houthi protesters gathered outside the Interior Ministry in Sana'a, where many thousands have had their camp for weeks. The Houthis, a predominantly Shia group who have had grievances with Yemen's ruling classes since the 1990s, said that they would protest until President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Had resigned and reinstated full fuel subsidies.
The refreshed demonstrations follow Hadi's dismissal of his government on Tuesday, proposing a national unity administration and reinstatement of fuel subsidies in an attempt to settle tensions with the Houthis.
