Estonia: Obama meets presidents of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania to talk NATO
US President Barack Obama's met with the President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves as well as presidents of Latvia and Lithuania - who joined NATO in 2004 - to assure them of NATO support and security in Tallinn, Wednesday. Obama will fly to the UK for the NATO summit later today.
Following escalation in terms of rhetoric and sanctions against Russia following the Ukraine conflict, NATO have proposed a force of several thousand troops (estimated to be around 4,000) to be based in Eastern European and Baltic states.
Russia in response has said it will adjust its military doctrine to factor in the greater military threat that NATO expansion presents.
