Pakistan: Watch protesters occupy state TV offices in Islamabad
Anti-government protesters stormed the offices of Pakistan's national television channel in Islamabad, Monday.
PTV's channels briefly went off air when the protesters broke through the building's gate, but army troops removed the demonstrators soon after they entered the building. Earlier, protesters stormed the federal bureaucracy building, hurling stones and hitting cars with wooden clubs on their way. Opposition leaders Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Quadir have urged their supporters to remain calm and cooperate with the army.
Violence erupted Saturday when thousands of Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri supporters demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's resignation and attempted to storm his official residence. According to officials three people have died and nearly 500 people have been injured in the clashes in Islamabad so far.
