Heili, a black tiger cub, continued to stay with its surrogate mother, a dog, at the Animal Kindergarden of Hangzhou Safari Park on Monday.
The tiger was born on the second of August, but its mother could not nurse it. The breeder decided to try and see if a dog would accept the cub, as the milk is similar to a tiger's. The surrogate mother quickly accepted Heili as one of her kids and it gets along with its puppy siblings rather well. The tiger cub enjoys playing with a ball and climbing all over his surrogate mother during feeding time.
Heili, like her parents, has black fur, due to the gene mutation pseudo-melanismn which both of his parents had.
Hangzhou Safari Park is praised for having better conditions than Hangzhou Safari Zoo.
