
China: Motor Rifle Brigade show off strength at Day of Russian Culture
The Russian Army's Motor Rifle Brigade took part in the Day of Russian Culture celebrations at the Chzhuzhihe training basecamp, Hohhot city, Monday. The event was part of the international military training mission "Peace Mission-2014".
Soldiers from China, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan and Tadzhikistan gathered to celebrate Russia, one of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states, and watch the performances by the armed forces and the creative group and orchestra of Eastern Military District. The soldiers could also be seen practicing martial arts.
"Peace Mission-2014" will last from August 24 to 29, its focus to practice tackling some of the SCO primary security targets like Afghan militants and drug lords. This is the biggest military drill ever held by the SCO, with the training of 7,000 servicemen from the five SCO member states to test military effectiveness against terrorism.
