China: Watch Russian artillery unleash their firepower
self propelled guns firing
Russian artillery troops took part in live-fire drills at the Zhurihe Combined Tactics Training Base, Inner Mongolia, Sunday. The exercises were part of the "Peace Mission-2014", an international military training mission organised by Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states.
The Russian soldiers could be seen practicing artillery fire with BM-21 Grad launch vehicles and Akatsiya self propelled guns, firing high-precision projectiles at long range. Together with standard missiles, the Russian team used high-precision rockets. The maneuvers took place at China's most recent and advanced training base which was specially built in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
"Peace Mission-2014" will last from August 24 to 29, its focus to practice tackling some of the SCO primary security targets like Afghan militants and drug lords. This is the biggest military drill ever held by the SCO, with the training of 7,000 servicemen from the five SCO member states to test military effectiveness against terrorism.
