Russia: ''Humanitarian aid trucks return empty to Russia' - EMERCOM's chief military expert
Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations' (EMERCOM) chief military expert Eduard Chizhikov said that Russian and Ukrainian border guards have confirmed that all the Russian humanitarian aid convoy trucks have returned to Russia empty of content. He made the comments during an interview at the Donetsk border crossing in Russia, Saturday.
All 227 vehicles that were part of the humanitarian aid mission returned safely and empty of content, said Chizhikov. They were inspected by customs and border patrol on both the Ukrainian and Russian sides of the border, he added.
Chizhikov noted that the trucks passed across the border and back "without incident or provocation," adding that all drivers are safe and well.
The humanitarian aid convoy successfully arrived in Lugansk, where its contents were unloaded for onward distribution before returning to Russia.
