Iceland: Are we going to see another Eyjafjallajokull?
Seismologist Martin Hensch expressed uncertainty at the likelihood of Bardarbunga volcano eruption, as he monitored data from his office at the Iceland Meteorological Office in Reykjavik, Friday.
Hensch said that it is impossible to say whether an eruption will happen or not, ruling out the possibility of making a serious prediction. If it explodes, Hensch noted, it is most likely to do so under the glacier of Bardarbunga volcano.
Geologists say about 300 earthquakes have struck the area surrounding the volcano since Tuesday, and emergency workers have been working around the clock to evacuate more than 300 from the area.
In 2010, the eruption of Iceland's Eyjafjallajokull volcano caused a massive ash cloud that disrupted air travel for weeks.
