Ukraine: See how shelling annihilated this Donetsk museum
Around eight shells hit the Donetsk Regional Museum on Thursday, leaving one of eastern Ukraine's largest and most important cultural centres in ruins.
A total of 23 of the museum's 29 rooms sustained severe damage, with over 1,000 exhibits ruined beyond repair and the archaeological section left completely devastated.
Museum director Denisenko Eugeniy said that the museum's 160 staff worked up until bombardment hit the building. He added that before the attack, visitors had continued to flock to the museum, albeit in declining numbers, despite the conflict.
