      USA: Obama condemns beheading of US journalist by IS militants - POOL

      US President Barack Obama spoke out over the beheading of US journalist Jim Foley by Islamic State (IS) militants, Wednesday in a press statement at the White House.

      After stating that ISIS did not belong in the 21st century and that the international community had to come together to 'extract this cancer' from the Middle East, Obama paid his respect to the US journalist and his family.

      ISIS released a video Tuesday evening showing the beheading of Jim Foley with the threat that there would be severe consequences to further US intervention in Iraq.
