      Ukraine: Kiev shelling hits Donetsk gas pipe, emergency services struggle to regain control

      A major industrial disaster was narrowly avoided in Donetsk, Friday, when a factory belonging to Donetsk Metal Works came under shelling and a main gas pipe burst on the premises. Six shells hit the factory, one of the city's biggest businesses, triggering a fire and causing operations to be suspended.

      Emergency services rushed to the site of the incident, battling with the flames late into Friday evening.
