
Spain: Spanish priest dies from Ebola
A Spanish missionary priest, Miguel Pajares, died of the Ebola virus disease (EVD) in a hospital in Madrid on Tuesday. Pajares, a member of the Brothers Hospitallers of St. John of God, was evacuated from Liberia and flown to Madrid's Carlos III Hospital where he was treated with an experimental drug in a special isolation unit. Appearing to stabilise at first, he later died.
According to the spokesperson from the Orden San Juan de Dios, several missionary members have recently died from the Ebola virus. The disease currently has a 90% death rate and is passed on through coming into contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person.
