Turkey: Erdogan casts vote in historic presidential election

Around 500 people greeted Turkish prime minister and presidential candidate Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as he arrived at a school in Uskudar, Istanbul to vast his vote in the country's first presidential election by popular vote on Sunday.

Erdogan is the frontrunning candidate in this historical vote and is predicted to gain at least 55 percent of the vote according to a recent survey. Erdogan's main opponent in the election is Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, predicted to gain around 33 percent of the vote and Selahattin Demirtas, expected to gain around 11 percent.
