Ukraine: Heavy shelling decimates Donetsk homes
Four residential buildings and an unfinished café building in the southern Leninsky district of Donetsk were destroyed by shelling, reportedly carried out by Kiev forces in the early hours of Sunday morning. Kiev forces used a Grad missile launcher during the attack, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic said on its official Twitter.
No information on casualties has been provided thus far.
The Leninsky district is new on the shelling map of Donetsk, since previous attacks by the Ukrainian Army targeted mainly suburbs in the city's north-west that neighbour the railway station and the airport. The city's south-west is also a frequent target of attacks. Areas adjacent to the settlements of Maryinka, Krasnogorovka, Alexandrovka, where the army is attempting to infiltrate the city from the direction of Mariupol, are also common targets.
