Four children were reportedly killed by artillery fire after Israel launched a ground campaign in Gaza on Thursday.

The children reportedly died only few hours after the end of the 5 hours truce between Israel and Hamas. According to Israeli military officials, the IDF has sent infantry, armoured, engineering and artillery corps troops.

The calling up of 18,000 additional reserve soldiers, in addition to the original 48,000, has been authorized by the Israeli government.

Over 220 Palestinians have died during the IDF's Operation "Protective Edge", alongside one confirmed Israeli fatality.
