
Russia: US inspector confronted by fleeing Ukrainian at Russian border
Military attachés from 11 countries visited the Ukrainian border near the southern Russian city of Donetsk, which was hit by artillery shells last Sunday. US officer Bruce McClintock was confronted by a Ukrainian man fleeing across the border during his inspection.
Eleven military attaches from China, Spain, the United States, Finland, Norway, Italy, Denmark, India, Germany, Sweden and France attended the inspection at the invitation of the Russian Defence Ministry.
Russia has accused Ukrainian military forces of firing the shells which impacted the town from across the border, a charge which has been denied by Kiev.
