      USA: Empire State Building shows love for Germany

      New York City's iconic Empire State Building was bathed in light in the black, red and gold colours of the German national flag Sunday evening, as Germany defeated Argentina 1-0 in the final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. German fans in the city said they were surprised by the number of people in the Big Apple supporting "Die Mannschaft" at various bars and drinking establishments.

      Germany's World Cup crown is its first since reunification.
