
Brazil: New World Cup ticket scalping suspect handed to Rio police
A new suspect in the World Cup ticket scalping case, Marcelo Pavao, handled himself in to Civil Police in Rio de Janeiro Thursday evening.
Pavao's lawyer, Rafael Cunha Kullmann, declared that his client had no relationship with the case, and that he does not have a defined defence to protect him, since no specific charges have been brought against him yet.
Employed as a taxi driver, Pavao is the latest of a series of individuals said to be involved in the case. Also Thursday, Raymond Whelan, CEO of FIFA Partner Match Services and one of the alleged heads of the scalping group, was declared a fugitive by police in Rio.
