Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Sergei Ivanov, Chief of the Presidential Administration of Russia, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday. Ivanov is on a three-day visit in which developments in strategic cooperative partnerships between Russia and China will be discussed.

China and Russia recently signed a historic $400 billion (€294 billion) gas-deal, with the cost of Gazprom's "Power of Siberia" gas pipeline also expecting to cost between $60 to $70 billion. When built, it will transport around 39 billion cubic metres of gas each year to China for 30 years.
