Russia: Legendary Buran spacecraft relocated to Ostankinsky
A prototype of the legendary Buran spacecraft, currently located at Gorky Park in Moscow, was transported to Ostankinsky District Saturday.
The Buran spacecraft was successfully launched by the Soviet Union in 1988, the first space shuttle capable of completing such a flight, and landing, in a fully automatic mode. Launched by a Energia super-heavy rocket, the Buran was capable of delivering 100 tonnes into orbit, and was designed to perform up to 100 flights to space.
