Russia: Sukhoi jets land at re-opened Krymsk airbase
A military airfield reopened near the town of Krymsk in southern Russia near the Black Sea, Thursday, after undergoing extensive reconstruction work. Eight Sukhoi Su-30M2 fighter jets touched down to start their service at the aerodrome.
The renovated airfield will strengthen the Russian Air Force in the Southern Military District, allowing up to four warplanes to take off simultaneously.
The airstrip can serve all types of aircraft in all weather conditions, while its capacity allows for a large number of warplanes and helicopters to be stationed there.
