Vatican: Spain's new king Felipe meets the Pope
Spain King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia met Pope Francis at the Vatican on Monday, the first overseas engagement for the Spanish royalty since ascending the throne earlier in June.
The queen followed the "Privilege du blanc," where female Catholic monarchs and the wives of Catholic monarchs are allowed to wear white when meeting with the Pope. Normally, women visiting the Vatican are required to wear black clothes with long sleeves and a veil known as a mantilla.
