Hundreds of thousands of German fans turned out to cheer for their team at Berlin fan mile near Brandenburger Gate on Monday.
Fans waited with bated breath as the game went to extra time, but were eventually rewarded with a 2-1 win against Algeria, moving on to the next round.
Germany will face France in the quarter finals on Friday, after they beat Nigeria 2-0.
