
India: ISRO launches PSLV-C23 rocket holding foreign satellites
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched a PSLV-C23 rocket holding five satellites from France, Germany, Canada and Singapore from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on Sriharikota, Monday.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi observed the launch of the 230-ton Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), which is some seven-storeys high and weighs 230 tonnes. The satellites weigh between 15 kg (33 lbs), for Germany, Canada and Singapore, and 714 kg (1,574lbs), for France.
India also announced future plans for an unmanned space voyage to Mars.
