      Russia has officially started its campaign to host the UEFA EURO 2020 in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday evening.

      The Russian football confederation presented a speech explaining many reasons why St. Petersburg is a good candidate for the UEFA. The function was held at the 'Museum of modern art' in Rio.

      Russians present at the announcement rubbed the statue of a football boot, a gesture of 'good luck' for the World Cup.

      There will be eight countries competing for hosting the EURO Cup in 2020.
