
Brazil: Students decry dismissal of 42 striking subway workers
Students from several Sao Paulo universities took to the city's Cathedral Subway Station on Wednesday to protest the dismissal of 42 striking subway workers.
Protesters from the University of São Paulo (USP), Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp) and Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) occupied the station claiming that the dimissal, ordered by governor Geraldo Alckmin was unfair.
The subway workers were fired after five days on strike.
