India: Police unleash water cannons on Delhi protesters
Police used water cannons against a crowd of protesters, including congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely and various other party workers, who were blocking trains from moving in the Nangloi area of northern Delhi on Saturday.
The protesters expressed their frustration at recent and frequent power cuts and water scarcity, and tried to storm the railway station where police apprehended them and detained them after protesters refused to leave the site.
Power cuts have been common in Delhi following a storm on May 30, which damaged transmission lines.
