Supermarket chain Tesco removed ground spikes believed to have been targetting the homeless at one of its central London stores just hours before a protest was set to take place there on Thursday. Protesters from Left Unity gathered at the Tesco store, holding banners and placards critical of the trend.

The Tesco Metro branch on Regent Street caught the attention of activists for its "anti-homeless spikes" at the store, resulting in a group vandalising them with paint overnight.
